What will the champion do?

  • Promote best practice skills, providing a link between theory and practice.
  • Provide motivation & supplementary development to staff (where appropriate) within their job role.
  • Act as a named point of contact for staff, their clients & carers.
  • Provide professional information and signposting to staff, their clients & carers.
  • Work and liaise with other champions for support and sharing of ideas.

OR A 

1 Day Course on How to become a Champion in the Social Care Sector 

Aims 

To have a greater understanding of how to become a Champion in the Social Care

Objectives 

  • To describe the role, responsibilities & skills of being a Champion
  • To recognize peoples different learning styles & teaching methods
  • To explore how to prepare a positive learning environment
  • To be able to develop and perform/deliver/demonstrate a short presentation/microteach/mini form of learning session using different learning methods.
  • To describe how to provide productive feedback/evaluation.
  • To be able to perform different types of icebreakers.
  • To look at different ways of presenting information.
  • To clarify some ‘Do’s and don’ts’ in a learning environment.
  • Ways of how to promote best practice in your organisation.

The delegates will be expected to prepare PRIOR TO ATTENDING this course a short 15 minute presentation/microteach on the subject that they are going to become a Champion in.  This will be presented/demonstrated and discussed during the course.
